MPAGS Mentoring Program

The MPAGS Undergraduate Mentoring Program is a free service offered by MPAGS. The purpose of the program is to pair undergraduate students who are interested in the field of psychology with graduate students who can answer questions and provide support to undergraduates in their graduate school endeavors or job searches.

By participating in the program, undergraduate students can hear first-hand experiences about the process of applying to graduate schools, jobs in the field of psychology, and learn more about the different disciplines of psychology (e.g., clinical, counseling, experimental, social, industrial/organizational, school, etc.), as well as the types of degrees (e.g., M.A., M.S., Psy.D., Ph.D.).

Currently, graduate students from a variety of graduate programs representing a range of educational levels in Maryland and other states, volunteer to participate as mentors for the program. MPAGS maintains a list of graduate student volunteers who represent a wide spectrum of experiences, education, specialties, and personal interests in psychology.

Applying to be a Mentor or Mentee

To apply as Mentor or Mentee, please e-mail the following information to Joelle Zegas at [email protected] and Rohaan Mehta at [email protected]. Mentors and Mentees will be paired based on similar interests, experiences, and career/academic pursuits. Once matched, each pair will receive an email with contact information for their Mentor/Mentee. It is up to the undergraduate student and their Mentor to decide how they would like to work together to maintain the relationship – whether through contact by phone, email, or in-person meetings.
