What is the Minnesota Paralegal Association?

 

MPA is a voluntary, non-profit professional association composed of paralegals living or working in the State of Minnesota dedicated to fostering the growth and development of the paralegal profession by:

  1. Promoting a high standard of professionalism to the legal community as well as the general public; 
  2. Encouraging communication among paralegals and related organizations;
  3. Supporting the ongoing education and professional development of paralegals; 
  4. Encouraging pro bono or community service involvement through MPA or other non-profit organizations; 
  5. Promoting diversity of its members; and 
  6. Demonstrating a commitment to honesty and integrity of all members.

When you join the MPA, you automatically become a member of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) - giving you two memberships for the price of one!

2016 MPA Outstanding Paralegal and Paralegal Newcomer Award

Do you know an amazing paralegal who deserves a little recognition?  Let the Minnesota Paralegal Association reward them for a job well done by nominating them for the 2016 MPA Outstanding Paralegal Newcomer Award or the Outstanding Paralegal Award!

The candidate must be a member of the MPA.  The nomination must be on the official nomination form (click here).  Paralegals may nominate another member or submit a self-nomination.  Nominations from attorneys and law firm administrators will also be accepted.

The general criteria are set forth below:

  • Dedication to the paralegal profession;
  • Service to the legal community;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Participation within the MPA and/or NFPA; and
  • Demonstrating a positive and progressive attitude toward paralegal development.

Nominations are due no later than Monday, October 3, 2016, and should be sent to:

Winners will be announced at the MPA Fall Gathering on October 27, 2016, and will be featured in the MPA Citations newsletter.

2016 MPA Student Scholarship Application

The Minnesota Paralegal Association’s Scholarship and Achievement Program will award two (2) Scholarships in 2016 to Paralegal Students (both members and non-members are eligible). The Scholarship provides Students a one-year free membership in the MPA.

MnCP CREDENTIALING PROGRAM
