License & Registration Review Course

Maryland State Portion - Online Format

Michael C. Heitt, Psy.D. - Moderator

MPA is pleased to offer a self-study review course entirely devoted to assisting those professionals preparing to take the Maryland portion of the licensing exam. This is an ongoing access format that allows registrants to self-pace their studies for the exam. Emphasis will be placed on the Maryland Licensure & Registration Law, the Maryland Code of Ethics for psychologists, and exam technique. The online format will offer participants increased convenience as well as interaction with the moderator and other participants. The level of participation on the interactive forum depends entirely on each registrant’s desire to participate. New exam content areas are added on an ongoing basis based on the materials that the Board provides to the examinees.

Participants in this online review course will learn strategies for taking the exam, such as which sections of Maryland law on which to focus attention, and which are relatively less important and therefore studied less intensely.  At your own pace, you will be guided through each line of all applicable state laws and regulations, enhancing your understanding of the material.

The course moderator will strive to answer all of the participants’ content-related questions posted on the web forum.  Discussion of practice answers and the rationale behind different responses are just some examples of the participant queries.  Again, the level of this type of activity on the forum depends entirely on course registrants’ desire to participate, and on the type of questions posted.

The exam study materials sent to you by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists and the information provided to you during this 3-month online self-study course, are all you will need for preparation to take the Maryland ethics and law portion of the state psychology licensing and registration exam.

Timeline for Course Completion

Registration allows participants access to the Review Course for up to 3 months.  After 3 months, access to the course will be removed.  We strongly recommend that you plan your study accordingly.  Most registrants have a firm exam date scheduled with the Board of Examiners before registering for this course, and find 3 months sufficient time to prepare.
