Cindy Ward Sandler, Ph.D. Chair; Ethan Bliss, Ph.D.; Richard Bloch, Esq.; M. Colleen Byrne, Ph.D.; Michael Heitt, Ph.D.; Kim Sanschagrin, J.D., Ph.D, Teresa Trabue, Psy.D.; and Beth Warner, Ph.D. 

Ethan Bliss, Ph.D., is in practice in Frederick Maryland. He works with children, adults, and couples. He is a generalist with interests in complex trauma and high functioning individuals with challenging diagnoses. 

Richard Bloch, Esq., is President of Shiling, Bloch & Hirsch, P.A. and has been in private practice in Maryland since 1972. He received his B.A. from the George Washington University and his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Mr. Bloch is admitted to practice in Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. His practice focuses primarily on health law, representation of health practitioners before the licensing boards, estate planning, general business, trade association law, and civil litigation. He is a member of the Baltimore County Bar Association. Mr. Bloch has been General Counsel to the Maryland Psychological Association since 1979. He has written numerous articles and lectures frequently on legal and ethical issues pertaining to the practice of psychology and mental health.

Mary Colleen Byrne, Ph.D.,  Dr. Byrne received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Emory University in 1998. Dr. Byrne joined the UMCP faculty as the Psychology Clinic Director in 2001. Dr. Byrne oversees clinical training in psychotherapy and assessment for doctoral students in the clinical psychology program during their practica in the Psychology Clinic. Dr. Byrne has served continuously on the Executive Committee for the Association of Psychology Training Clinics (APTC) including a term as President.  Dr. Byrne has been active member of the Maryland Psychological Association, serving 3 terms on the Continuing Education Committee and 2 terms on the Ethics Committee.

Michael C. Heitt, Psy.D., Dr. Michael Heitt is a licensed psychologist in private practice.  The primary focus of his clinical and consultative activities center around working with physicians, executives and other professionals who are dealing with personal and occupational challenges. He frequently consults to small and mid-size companies on a variety of workplace and organizational issues, and is recognized by local Courts as being an expert witness in the fields of Clinical and Forensic Psychology.  Dr. Heitt has presented internationally on topics ranging from workplace violence and professional impairment to human resources and personnel development, as well as topics such as psychological ethics, disaster psychiatry and clinical assessment.  He has been a faculty member of the Johns Hopkins University and Loyola University Maryland, and he is the instructor for the Maryland State Jurisprudence Licensure Exam preparatory course offered by MPA.

Cindy Ward Sandler, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who earned her Master's and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland College Park. She is in private practice specializing in child and adolescent development, learning and emotional well-being through providing psychological assessments. In addition to her diagnostic work, she provides community service presentations and co-hosted call-in talk shows, The Learning Connection and Team Radio. She serves on the board of Camp Attaway, a local therapeutic day camp for children with behavior and emotional disorders.

Teresa Trabue, Psy.D., is a Maryland licensed psychologist in the 23rd year of clinical practice in Prince George’s County Maryland.  Dr. Trabue works with a diverse array of clinical issues including using a wide variety of psychological and neuropsychological techniques for determining learning style and learning needs, and diagnosing developmental disabilities, as well as treating children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of adjustment issues. In addition to individual therapy with adults, Dr. Trabue offers relationship therapy, parent training, and small group work with women.  Dr. Trabue is a board member for AutismFYI.Org, a national registry on ways to best support individuals with spectrum disorders in emergency situations in the community. She is past president of the Association of Practicing Psychologists in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties. She works with corporations to provide counseling, seminars, and evaluations to employees to help them identify ways to optimize their performance in the workplace 

Beth S. Warner, Ph.D., earned her doctorate in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park.  She has worked in community, clinical, administrative, and research positions.  She is currently in private practice in Greenbelt, MD, and provides therapy and psychological evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults. She has a particular interest in working with adolescents, grief and loss, and community violence issues. Dr. Warner is a member of the Maryland Psychological Association and has been a member of the Ethics Committee since 2014.
